Terese and I managed to get the top sliding part(the cartridge holders) to slide across,\u00a0then smash into &amp; turn on the switches, which then set the bottom part(paper feeder) going and shooting\u00a0out pieces of paper bills. A needle was attached onto each cartridge holder on the inside so that when the holders smash inwards, the needles would also pop the balloon, making an explosion of confetti (tiny polystyrene foam balls). We didn&#8217;t take any videos cus all hands were on deck(holding wires or trying\u00a0to hold something in place)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0562.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-413 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0562.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0562.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0562-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><br \/>\n<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"color: #000000\">The<\/span><\/a>\u00a0back &#8211; we powered both of the paper feeders on just one power source. We weren&#8217;t sure whether it will power also the top sliders and didn&#8217;t want anything to explode so used another power supply for the top part.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0559.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-411 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0559.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0559.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0559-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a>The magical part.<\/p>\n<p>Everything was going fine and we were going to work on the finishing touches the next day and<\/p>\n<h1><strong>This happened.<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0226.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-419\" src=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0226.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0226.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0226-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/a>Due to intensive testings and aging of the band that runs on the gears &amp; pulls my cartridge holder,\u00a0<strong>BROKE<\/strong><br \/>\nIt was so bad that I wasn&#8217;t able to pull it back together&#8230;:(<br \/>\nNor could I replace it because of <strong>THIS<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-420\" src=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0227.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0227.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.collab.scrapyardchallenge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_0227-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><br \/>\nThe pieces of loose string (that made up the band) were stuck and got tangled up with the gear.<br \/>\nYou can tell how unhappy I was &#8216;cus I didn&#8217;t even feel like getting my camera out, haha<\/p>\n<p>We were also thinking to attach a piece of rollable paper to the cartridge holder so that it unrolls and reveals the secret message when the cartridge holder slides inward &amp; pulls.
